Transforming Brazing Copper Fittings

Experience a revolutionary approach to brazing copper tubing with the Brazing Dimpler®. Designed to deliver consistent size and depth dimples, our tool simplifies the creation of secured joints. Simply insert the fitting into the jaws of our product to your desired depth and squeeze or press the button.

No need for a super-deep dimple or a ridge – three dimples 120° apart that protrude 0.010 inches inside the fitting will limit how deep the tube can be inserted into the fitting. Reducing the overlap length of the fitting in the tube cuts the time needed to make a brazed joint by 50 to 90 percent – to say nothing of reducing the amount of high-cost silver-containing  filler metal that you will need.

The tool for modifying copper solder-joint fittings to make them braze-joint fittings.

A Time and Money Saver You Can Depend On

The Brazing Dimpler® is built to suit your exact needs. To change the height of the protrusion, slightly adjust the set screw about one-eighth of a turn. With a 1/4-20 thread pitch on the set screw of the Brazing Dimpler®, each full turn increases the height of the protrusion by 1/20th of an inch.

Our hand-operated models hold the depth-controlling set screw securely in place without a locking nut. After adjusting the impression depth, the dimple should be located at the depth specified in ASME B16.50.  Setting the dimple further back than necessary just makes it more difficult for the brazer to make a good, properly filled joint.  For some applications it is possible to rotate the dimpling direction outward so that the dimple protrudes outward on the tube rather than inward on the fitting.

Man Holding Metal Tool

Fully Adjustable to Maximize Convenience

Brazing Dimpler® Corporation, located in Greensboro, North Carolina, provides numerous benefits backed by technical insights.

Since solder melts at roughly 400 degrees Fahrenheit and most braze metals at temperatures over 1,200 degrees Fahrenheit, it is integral to remember that braze metal is many times stronger than solder. Therefore, it’s perfectly safe to shorten the fitting depth when brazing a joint without affecting its strength.

User-friendly Brazing Dimpler®

Our Brazing Dimpler® is straightforward and easy to use, offering numerous benefits to simplify your brazing tasks. To maintain the integrity and strength of your joints, our tool should only be used for brazing applications, not soldering. Remember, the high melting temperature of brazing metals makes the brazing process stronger than soldering, allowing you to shorten joint overlap without compromising its strength.  NEVER SOLDER A FITTING THAT HAS BEEN DIMPLED – IT WILL EVENTUALLY COME APART!
